eExpedise takes pride in successfully arranging treatment and care for Proton Therapy

What is Proton Therapy?

In 2019, India became the 16th country to offer proton therapy in the world with the launch of Apollo Proton Cancer Centre (APCC), Chennai by Apollo Hospitals.

Proton therapy, also known as proton beam therapy, is a type of radiation therapy that uses protons rather than x-rays to treat cancer. In this external-beam radiation therapy protons are utilized at high energy to destroy cancer cells. It painlessly delivers radiation through the skin from a machine outside the body. There is less radiation dose outside of the tumor with proton therapy.

Presently, Apollo Cancer Centre in Chennai and Kharghar’s Tata Memorial Centre offer Proton Beam Therapy in India.
